In Loving Memory… Dorothy Hotze

When we think of one, we think of both--Dorothy & Frank.  Both cared greatly about family.

Dorothy regretted she never had children of her own.  But she was devoted to her family, to Frank’s, including their numerous nieces and nephews.  She and my mother were more like sisters who could speak frankly to each other as equals.  (In my remembrance, Dorothy was my mother’s “lieutenant” in deciding how to handle many family matters.)

Extremely generous, Dorothy and Frank put their families first.

Uncle Donald was especially impressed with our sister’s devotion.  She helped take care of our mom and dad, and Frank’s parents as well.  She also helped take care of Frank’s Great Aunt Paula and Aunt Paula’s housekeeper when both were ill.

As a couple, Dorothy and Frank were good examples to us all.  As an amateur genealogist, Dorothy helped us better understand our varied backgrounds.  She was always appreciative of anything anyone did for her.
There is a biblical verse that says those who honor their parents will live long in the land.  Dorothy had a long, dedicated, and beautifully productive life.  Devoted wife, daughter, sister, and aunt, Dorothy will be greatly missed.
